New project approved – BSR TransGovernance

Published: 2012-06-29 10:36

The monitoring committee recently announced the pleasant news that the BSR TransGovernance project, with Region Blekinge as lead partner, is one of three projects that has been approved for the final call of the program. The objective of the initiative, based on the work of Scandria, EWTC2 and TransBaltic, is to demonstrate how multi-level governance models, tools and approaches can contribute to a better alignment of transport policies in the BSR at various administrative levels and better incorporation of the business perspective. This is expected to increase commitment of public and private stakeholders to achieving greener and more efficient transport in the Baltic Sea Region, in line with PA 11 of the EU Baltic Sea Strategy.

More specifically for TransBaltic the new initiative intends to secure a follow up of the TransBaltic Macroregional Transport Action Plan (to be presented at TransBaltic Final Conference 4-5 Sep) by streamlining it with the result of the Baltic Transport Outlook and other EU Baltic Sea Strategy PA11 initiatives. BSR TransGovernance will operate for 2 years starting up in September 2012.
